Keep Believing In Love

Nickie Harte Kelly Jano often tackles topical and controversial issues right up front, with no holds barred. Her songs are well-crafted stories, sometimes dark, sometimes full of the promise that one can indeed make it back from the other side of Hell into the light. Some of the tunes are given an Americana spin, but my favourite song here shows her very quirky side, taken from a childhood visit to a Midwestern side show. Favorite track: Gorilla Girl.

about

This recording project was done here in New Orleans, the City of Living History. The birthplace of Jazz and Rock n Roll. If you notice, this album is marked $0 or "Pay What You Will" but hey-feel free to donate toward my road.thanks!

For me it was a dream come true. We had a generous budget from executive producer Jess Grant. Gallivan Burwell and Marcel Anton musical heroes of mine who I feel really “get me” gently produced this work of a lifetime with me and helped me reach for my best. They’re both featured performers along with Raymond Weber on drums (Raymond’s presence is a magic strength. He emanates Love and Groove), Chris Severn on bass and Gina Forsyth (songwriter hero friend) on violin.

We recorded it at Esplanade Studios with owner/engineer Grammy award winning Misha Kachkachishvili. We took one break during the project when Dr John asked for studio time to do some tracks. As it turned out, his last.

After it was recorded, Marcel took it to Echo Mountain studio in North Carolina for mixing with Julian Dryer. Dave Harris at Studio B mastered this.

I’m living with my best friend ever, love of the rest of my life in this city like no other. I’m flooded with gratitude for all the people in my life, near and far. And by people, I mean all mammals.

One of those mammals, Brian Cutean, the lovely genius music poet, is responsible for getting all my music up here on Bandcamp. I wouldn’t be here without him. Check out his music here on Bandcamp!

We put our furry heads together and decided Hey! Let’s give it away! Hear here!
